  1. I am having audio sync problem with DVD-Lab lately and I do not know what did I do wrong?

    Here's what I did:

I record a 2 hour show from TV in mpeg2 DVD compliant format.

I used Mpeg2VCR (v3.14) to cut the commercial out. The result Mpeg 2 (mpv and mp2) is in sync.

Then I convert the audio to ac-3 and that's when I have my problems:

I cannot use BeSweet because my Pioneer cannot play the disc if I convert using BeSweet.

I use Softencode and it is out of sync

I use Vegas 4 and put the mpeg2 file in and the render the audio to AC3, it works on some file but not the other.

Try NeroVision and use the Export funciton and let it reencode the video and the sound to ac3, it is in sync and then I demux them and use the ac3 with my original mpv. Then it is out of sync towards the end of the show.

I try on some files when I use DVD-lab is out of sync but use Tmpgenc Author then it is ok. Is there something I need to do so the DVD-lab will not make the audio out of sync.

Is it the Mpeg2VCR causing out of sync? I read that it is causing out of sync on earlier version but not the latest, but the mpeg2 that created by Mpeg2VCR is in sync only when I demux, convert the sound to ac3 and put it into DVD lab and become out of sync.

Is there a setting in Mpeg2VCR or DVD lab that I forget? or if there is other way to create the ac3 file that DVD lab will not become out of sync?

    Any suggestion would be great.

    Thanks

  2. I think I narrow down to what problem is:

It is Mpeg2VCR. When I edit the mpeg2, somehow it makes the audio out of sync even though it looks insync when I play on windown media player.

What I finally did was, using Tmpgenc DVD author to cut out the commercial, then open the VOB again in Tempenc DVD author and save the file in mepg format ( it will have several clips ) as we have cut the original one clips.

Then I use Tmpgenc to join the mpeg and get the m2v file.
I use Vegas 4 and put the clips together and render only the .ac3

Then put those 2 streams in DVD lab, then the audio sync is perfect.

I think DVD lab is very particular about the ac3? This takes longer than just mpeg2VCR to cut and burn. But then I do not have to worry about the audio sync problems.

Anyperson have been sucessful using mpeg2VCR and DVD lab? The thing is if I use the mpeg2VCR mpeg and use DVD author, then the audio is sync. But DVD lab has the best menu fuction! I don't know if Oscar can fix it?

    Thanks
