Is there a program (prefer freeware) that will capture from a DV camcorder faster than realtime? Or at least get a "preview" faster. I friend said he thought you could get a "preview" of what is on the tape quickly and do your editing with the preview and then the full quality capture would only be done of the parts you want to keep. Is this correct? Or is it only certain camera/software packages. My camera is a Cannon ZR60. Thanks.

Unless you can play your tape faster than real time, I'd say the software does not matter for capture.
I don't think FF is playing it all, (or well).
As I recall, Scenalyzer allows for a quick preview on your PC. There is a pay version, but also a free version of this program. -
Nope- DV capture (really copy) is a realtime event. I think Scenalyzer will quickly give you scene thumbnails from a tape that you can select and batch capture as you want, but that's still going to be at realtime as far as the actual copying goes.
