Hello !
I have an Hauppauge TV Tuner card which basically saves the MPG2/AC3 received from my antenna (Off the air) on my HDD. Currently, I use those streams and avisynth scripts to convert to either X264 or XVID, but only once the recording is over.
I wanna speed up the process. Apparently, there are ways to use those streams to encode, using avisynth scripts or not, either X264 or XVID in realtime (of course considering your PC has sufficient power).
Any clue on those ways and/or application I should be using ?
Thanks.
Frank

Two questions...
Can you feed the tuner card into VLC to watch the live feed?
and
If so, do you know how to do this from the command line?

hello.
Nope doesnt work in VLC
What I did not mention in my first post is that I have to be able to perform Avisynth function while encoding. For example, if a channel is broadcasted in 1080i and I want to encode Xvid, I have to be able to encode through the following Avisynth script :
TFM(PP=0)
TDECIMATE()
crop(8,8,-8,-8)
LanczosResize(624,352)
