  1. When I capture in MPEG-2 through the ATI Multimedia Software, the quality is so much better than MPEG-1. But after capturing in MPEG-2, I can't open the file in any conversion tools eg TMPGenc. It can de-multiplex and then re-multiplex it again and can see the specs eg 480x480 and bitrate. TMPGenc says that the the file unsupported. Is there anyway of getting past this?

  2. Try load the file in virtdub and save it with divx compression.
After that I think the MPGenc will admite it as a good file.

  3. uncle_joe did you read his post? thats not good advice at all. to convert mepg-2 to divx so you can use it in TMPGEnc is a very bad suggestion. I dont have the answer for hotmat but I wanted to make sure he knew that converting it to an AVI format is NOT the answer.
