  1. I would like to know if it is possible to take jpg photos and convert them so I can play the photo album on a DVD player. Want to do it for family members. Thanks for the advice.

  2. Take a look to the left under Author, scroll down to 'create VCD slide show.' The key thing is that the standard VCD resolution (352x240) sucks for this. However, the VCD standard supports stills at 704x480.

    You can even add music if you want.

    But how can one get the high res picture.

    I have a jpeg at 706x576 (PAL) and want to code it
    to a MPEG-slide at the same resolution ?
    Sofar all my tries end up with a low res mpeg.

    You had it right the first time.

    When VCDTK generates an MPEG still, it creates a secondary low-res still and multiplexes the two together. Media Player only displays the low-res version, but the high-res version is there and will be displayed properly on a hardware player.
