  1. Nero Vision Express 2 removes the wide screen format.
I use Nero 6 and the source avi file edited by Premiere 6.0.
When I add a wide screen format videofile (.avi 720x576 1.422 pixel aspect ratio - made by Premiere) NVE2 converts to 4:3 format. The setting in NVE2 is 16:9 and black areas fill out the remaining width of the videopicture that obviously has changed to 4:3 format.
If I capture the DV directly from my Canon DV camera, using NVE2, the 16:9 wide screen format remains correct after import to NVE2.
One would think that Premiere might be the problem, but I do not think so: - If I play the avi file (that I was not able to down-load to the correct format by NVE2) by using window media player or the nero player it works fine showing the 16:9 format. So I am convinced that NVE does something with that avi file that I havent asked it to do.

    Nero tech. support says:
Seems that NVE2 changes the header of the file that I add, and that I should use what they call a non-conform file. I think this means an avi file on which the header with the aspect ratio information cannot be changed, but I am not sure and I am no wiz at this.
I have serached the www and in particular Premier forums re this, but conform and non-conform files do not appear to be a topic anywhere.

I want to use Premiere for editing since I think it far better than NVE2’s very primitive editing function.

    Is it a NVE2 bug?
Or is it a phenomena that can be fixed with Premiere or something else

Can someone explain whats wrong and how to fix the problem?
