Hi all
I obtained some DVD-R disks from a friend. They play fine in my PS2 but my computer wont even recognise anything on them apart from a small Winamp file, PowerDVD seems to think they are Audio disks and let's JetAudio start up but nothing plays.
I downloaded WinDVD but it said Disk not found, PowerDVD did give me an error message namely 'Internal Error 80004005'
Adaptec web site says that error message means I need to update my Aspi files which i downloaded and did, but no differance, as i said the disks play all right on a PS2 which is making me think it's a PC problem not disk problem, my DVD drive is a _NEC DV-5700A drive.
I have PowerDVD XP4 which I would have though capable of reading the disks but since 'My Computer' is struggling perhaps it's not there fault.
Any suggestions please would be greatly appreciated.

I have DVD-R disks that my DVDROM drive won't read. My DVDRW drive reads them fine. It's an olde DVDROM drive, but it rips up to 8x. My new 16x modle reads the iR's jsut fine, but only ruips at 2x. So it's a catch 22 for me. ASPI drivers are current, so i think it's simply hardware. Old CDROM drives can't read a CDR or CDRW either.

Thanks for the quick reply Gaz will have to look into updating the Hardware unless any one else has an idea, by the way is the _NEC a old model.
