I have several vacation videos in MP4 format. They are each large files and I would just like to compress them to be able to email to family & view on a smart phone. Any ideas on a simple free program to do this? Thank you very much!

  2. Don't do that. You will destroy the quality. Just upload to Youtube and give your friends the link. Although Youtube will also compress but maybe not as much as you would have to in order to send in a email. Emailing videos is always a bad idea because most will not have the patience to wait hours for it to download and some carriers will not allow long files anyway. Exactly how long are your videos?

There are several 1-3 minute videos. I'm just hoping to reduce the resolution for viewing on smart phones. Thank you!

  5. Both of the previous suggestions are excellent. I usually lean toward the YouTube/Vimeo option because they recognize the playback device and stream appropriately.
