[SIZE="4"]Hi,
I have about 60, (2) hours each, DVDs of home movies that I transferred from VHS and DV about 7 years ago. These DVDs are divided into chapters of the events in my life. I would like to convert them to an M4v format so I could play each event separately on my Iphone. I have bought AVS Video Converter but my computer freezes or slows down to a crawl, if it is able to transfer at all! The company is based in England and has no telephone support. I am using windows XP which may be the problem. Attached is a list of my computer specs.
Is it worth doing this on my own or is there a paid service that specializes in this type of transfer. I have spoken to companies that will convert the entire 2 hour DVD into one two hour movie. I would like them the chapters itemized for separate viewings.
Any suggestions?
Don S.

I think dvdfab dvd ripper would be easiest, it can split by chapters and convert to iphone. http://www.dvdfab.com/faq/?type=dvd_ripper#faq_5 . But test the free trial before you buy anything.
You can also use free tools to split by chapters like dvddecrypter and then convert with for example vidcoder.
