  1. I have a set of original VCD and trying to make a copy for my sister to keep. I want the copied CDR-VCD it to be able to play on my DVD player (Philips DVD840>according to the DVD compatability list, it should be able to play CD-R). The original is playable on the DVD player.

    Experimented CDRs:
I could get a movie to be played on my Philips DVD using a CD-RW and not a CD-R

The Movie won't play on my DVD. I bought some new CD-R (Memory) to try on.... I've used Pioneer, Pengo, Brandless "Silver" CD-R, and TDK but none of it seems to work. I've also tried using Nero and VCDEASY to burn, but no success....

Would it be a problem to my CD-RW????

It could be. Many machines are picky about the media they'll play, regardless of what it sez on the front of it. But then again...you might try these things also....

    1) Make sure the source disc is clean. A slightly smudged disc that isn't detected as dirty by the burning software might cause the copy to be unreadable.

    2) Try burning at a slower rate.
