  2. to aithor a DVD yes, you need an DVD authoring package... for converting avi to vcd, svcd you have enough. I would not recommend converting avi to dvd.

AVI is just a wrapper. What type of AVI is it? What do you have inside the AVI? Is it a home video?

At this point, I will assume it is a home video (i.e., DV-AVI).

Not sure what Nero Plus is. Do you mean Nero 6 Ultra Edition? If so, then it comes with NeroVision Express 2 (NVE2). This should be able to convert an AVI to DVD for you (unless you have hardware incompatibilities).

I have used it successfully to capture a home video from my miniDV camcorder and make a DVD.

If you have NVE2, then you don't need TMPGEnc (unless you want it).

I have read the comments. I'm not sure which specific ones you are referring to, but I also own the product and have tried it first-hand.

I have successfully taken DV-AVI (from a miniDV camcorder tape) and created a DVD with no problems. These AVI files work fine in NVE2.

    What is your point?
