    well i bought i a sony u14a which is suppose to the oem ver of the 510a. im using princo 1x and princos 1 to 4x. i believe im using firmware 1.0. at 4x at 1 in 5 disc fails to burn, and 1 in 3 skip if burn i successful. i know princos are not the best dvdr, but could it be the firmware need to beed updated. can some send me a link to get the latest firmware that works with then sony u14a model.

    thx for your reply. but i think i tried that update and it doesnt recognize my drive. i think its looking for the 510a and i have the u14a. do i need to rename it.

    Please read the following link if you want to flash your OEM drive to a DRU-510A:

    Just remember there is no going back to DW-U14A once flashed to DRU-510A.
