I just got an offer from one of my suppliers for a USB tv tuner. Has anyone heard of/used one of these and are they worth using? I would like to start doing some capture stuff but don't want to invest a ton of money ( at least not yet ). I would like to pick up an AIW card but they are a bit beyond what I'd like to spend at the moment. Any recommendations? What I'd like to do is maybe tv capture and possibly capture from vcr tapes.....

I use the Hauppauge WINTV PVR USB2 system and it works great.
You didnt indicate which board you are going to use.
If it is a USB 1.0 device you will be limited on the MPEG quality that can be captured. -
I have used usb devices for capturing and it dropped frames like crazy and the audio was always out of sync. I am using a hauppauge win tv go tv tuner card and i still get a few dropped frames, but the audio stays in good sync.
