  1. Sorry in advance for the long post but......

Life used to be so good...I was using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, and CopyToDVD and made create backups over the last few months or so...simple, painless, great all around.

Now my trial has expired of CopyToDVD and I didn't want to pay the $30 per year to use it (yes I'm a tightwad I guess). So based on help from some folks here I tried Burnatonce and my first movie burned fine to +RW and played great on my standalond DVD player. Tonight I go to make a copy to just a -R AND +R disc and end up toasting 3 discs (.79 ones from Compusa)...

So then I decide to use ImgTool Classic .90 Build 9 (newest version). It creates an .img file of the movie I have saved on my 2nd HD I use to store movie files (VIDEO_TS)(it was first shrunk using DVD Shrink BTW)..So now I get the image file, and use DVD Decrypter to burn the .img file to disc..but now it says the file is 6.6gb big!!! WTF?? It was 4.45gb big according to burnatonce.

What am I doing wrong?? I've exhausted my "freeware" options it seems and I guess will have to go to CopyToDVD since I don't have Nero etc. I do have Roxio 6.0 but it doesn't support DD AC3 files.

I do however have Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2.0 on it's way here from Ebay..do you think this program will burn the VIDEO_TS file for me as long as I don't update the program ( I hear updates kill AC3 support).

Thanks to all who can help!

Try burning with IMG TOOL BURN. Here is the link:
    http://www.coujo.de/ib/index.php?act=html_include&incl_name=download

Use DVD SHRINK first then use the IMG TOOL BURN to burn. Make a new folder and create 1 folder naming it VIDEO_TS and another folder AUDIO_TS. Copy your files that you created with DVD SHRINK into the new folder VIDEO_TS. The audio_ts folder remains empty. Then use IMG TOOL BURN to burn the dvd. If you're using the cheap PRINCO dvd-r from COMPUSA that could also be a problem. Some burners won't successfully burn on cheap media. And also depending on what programs you used to convert and burn the dvds. The website link I gave you has some instruction on how to burn with IMG TOOL BURN. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

You Too? I hope it is worth the wait for me too. I have no trouble burning....just editing files from Philips DVD Recorders...which is whay I bought Movie Factory.
I use IFOEdit to create an ISO image of material created by DVDShrink or even DVDDecrypter in IFO mode....then use DVDDecrypter to burn the ISO image. It's an extra step that I most likely DONT need to do....but hey....it works for now until I get smarter...

I appreciate the link and I planned on using that a while back, but it says I need some kind of Nero file etc. I don't have Nero and when I hear anything from Nero can conflict with my Roxio etc. So I think I'm outta luck using this particular tool.

If you go to that link I gave you it has a NERO file you can download to use IMG TOOL BURN. I don't think you would have any conflicts with a NERO flie with your Roxio Easy Cd Creator program. I have Roxio Easy Cd Creator 6 installed on my pc and I don't have any Nero problems that conflict with Roxio. I've found that when burning dvd movies with Nero it really depends on what programs you are using to do your conversions and what type or brand of media you are using. After reading so many different forum sites my conclusion is there are so many variables in burning dvds.
