I have tryed backing up two of my dvd's, firstly using DVDShrink 3.0 Beta 5 Version. Then I open up Nero, and start the dvd option, then click the DVD-Video button, and then click New. Then I Drag all the files from the folder I created with movie in it, into the Video_TS folder. Then I click the burn button, and then it says there is not enough space to burn this compilation. Yet when I used DVD-Shrink, it had shrunk to the minimum size option other than still pictures I think it was 51% but I'm not 100%sure.
One DVD sayed that the final size in DVD Shrink was 4,463MB and the other sayed it was 4,464MB. The Blank Princo DVD-R's that I have say on the disc that they are 4.7GB. Wouldn't that mean that the disc is capable of holding 4812.8MB? So why won't it burn either of the DVD's when they are both a few hundred MB smaller than 4.7GB in size?
Is there any way to fix this so that they will fit on one dvd-r without changing any content, or would I have to delete some of the special features?

This has been explained umpteen times, but here goes again:
The GB we (and computers) talk about are based on the fact that a kB is 1024 byte. The marketing people saw an opportunity here, as G (giga) in the matematical sense is 10^9. The DVDs are labled according to the mathematical definition of Giga. When we convert this to the "correct" computer Giga, we arrive at approx 4.37 GB capacity. You will notice that memory cards that says it's capacity is 128 MB isn't 128*1024*1024 (=134217728) byte, but 128000000 byte, which in computer terms is 122 MB
The same principle applies to DVD

yes thats true as the size goes but the size of the compressed files is only 4,464 which WILL fit on a DVD-R. thats what DVD Shrink always shrinks to and I've never had a problem with it. what version of Nero do you have? make sure to download the latest updates for it.

To me, 4,464MB > 4,37, but this giga stuff is confusing as hell
Give the size in bytes (no k, no K, no M, no G) so we all know what we're talking about! (Directed at the media industry.) This is like when Nintendo started marketing their games as "shipped on a 16 M cartridge" - 16 mega what? Well, bits, it turned out pretty soon...

I have burned up to 4488mb, using DVD shrink, the old version of DVD Shrink, using 32mb as my safety. I must admit on rare occasions I have opened the wrong folder. I moved the files I had before using DVD Shrink, instead of the new files after I used DVD shrink.
Make sure your moving the right folder. It happens. -
upgrade nero to 6.0.0.23. 6.0.0.19 has a few known problems. a simple upgrade may fix the problem.
