  1. i have been seaching around the net and it seems that a few people are able to play DVD+R in thier Philips dvd950 players.

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=273&Search=Search&#comments

I have tried burning some DVDs in a couple of different ways using Nero, DVD-Video, DVD-Rom UDF/ISO, etc.... But the results are the same, its a no go.

I put the dics in and the unit just keeps on resetting it self.

I have read some where that there is a way to upgade this unit, (something like, upgrading the ROM SERVO. whatever the heck that means)
But there is no information on how this can be done.

    PLextor 504a
    Nero 6.0.0.19
    Memorex 4x DVD+R (ricoh)

    i have also tried
    Verbatim DatalifePro (MCC)
with the same results, doesnt work.

im figuring that the only way around this problem is to buy a newer stand alone DVD player that supports the DVD+R format, or buy a burner that writes DVD-R disc (i dont want to buy a DVD-R burner). But i just figured that i would post this tread for the hell of it. Maybe somebody out there has solved this problem and has a solution of me/

    thanks

  2. You just have to send your player to a philips support center. They will make you an upgrade to player that will make it compatible with DVD+r -r +rw and -rw.
