  1. Well I wanted to extract a audio out of this particular video with VirtualDub and this problem surfaced. Cannot open the file with TGMPEnc too.

Using AVIcodec, I have XviD MPEG-4 Decoder installed under DirectShow.

Anyone can tell me whats the problem here?

What does avicodec tell you about the audio stream?

  4. Try using the fourcc changer on the bad files (make a copy) and change the fourcc code to div3. If that does not work, try changing it to divx (you will need the divx 4 codec or later installed for this to work).

Your problem is very common for Xvid files, They need to be decompressed. Use the decompressor from AVI2VCD to decompress the Xvid files and then load the decompressed files into TMPGEnc and demux for the audio.
Just shut up and listen dumbass
