I have two video clips that are in an AVI format that Premiere 6.5 and Ulead 6 do not recognize. Ulead actually tells me that it can not find "vidsvid" I tried using Main Concept MPEG encoder to change the format but it doesn't recognize the AVI format either. Anyone got any ideas? I do not have an orignal source to try and recapture the video. This is all I have to work with. I can play the files in the latest DivX player only.

Get the 4cc changer app over in the tools section. Change the 'xvid' header to 'divx' for both and it should work fine.

im asuming you mean the "tools" section of the website now that I look at it. I have searched for "4cc" and nothing shows up. What do i need to look for?

I don't remember the name, and the searchpage doesn't do keywords (go figure).

    It's here: http://www.inmatrix.com/files/avic_download.shtml

It has nothing to do with Premiere (which is picky about source files). Run it, open the AVI, make both lines say divx and hit the update button. Then try Premiere. Remember MPEG4 is MPEG4, and generally any decoder will work, assuming it knows to decode in the first place and isn't confused.
