  1. I have a BUSH 2020 dvd player. It has the DD and DTS logos on it but only has two audio jacks on the back.

This is connected to my TV by a scart lead alone. When I play films in 5.1 I still get sound however when I play DVDs in DTS I get no sound at all.

I am getting a home cinema kit for christmas which consists of the decoder/sub and 5 speakers, it says that it supports DTS.

When I connect this to the DVD player, should I get the sound from DTS soundtracks?

It is my understanding that my DVD play can handle the dts sound but obviously not project it therefore that is what teh home cinema decoder will do? is this correct?

Also do I need to connect teh Cinema decoder to the dvd player via the coaxial and optical sockets?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. It sounds like the player cannot decode the DTS signal. I had an old Shinco player like this - it had DD and DTS logos but only decoded the Dolby Digital - I needed an external decoder for the DTS.

Your player is probably sending the DTS signal to the digital audio out. This will be either the optical or coax. Just hook up your decoder to either one (it doesn't matter which one, they are both digital audio) and you will be fine.
