I just noticed Target has a DVD player by Kawasaki for about $69, but it goes on sale Sunday for $52. The box *says* it will play CDR/W on the side...does anyone have any experience with this player?
I know the basics, inorder for a player to play VCD/SVCD is needs a dual laser, but is there anyway to tell from the features on the box if it infact will? It's not listed on the player list yet.
But for $52, the nice thing is, it's a 5 disc'er too. Anyways, the model number was something 500, like SVP500.

The Kawasaki SVP500 would play DVD+-R/W disks that I made, but would not play VCD or SVCD. Also, it could read CD-RW with JPEG files, though I thought the menu was poor.
I returned it, for I have many home movies on VCD and SVCD.
