  1. If I can remember, about 8 years ago a friend of mine had a Divx DVD player. Something was that Divx were like DVD's that you had to pay for watching. I am I right or was that a dream? I know they sold for $2 and had like 10 plays in them. Then you had to connect your Divx DVD player to a phone line or something and it would charge your credit card. I am right, I don't know? Back then I couldn't tell you the difference between coaxial, compenant, and telephone cans with a string.

  2. That was "Divx". It was a pay system that has long since passed away.

    It has nothing to do with the modern "DivX" codec except for the name (the original DivX ;-) codec -- the hacked Microsoft one -- got its name as a parody of the commercial Divx system).
