I'm a newbie (hooray!) and have several questions. Here goes

First my system description:

PC: Atholn 900MHz, 384Mb Ram, ATI Rage Pro 3d AGP, Windows ME
Storage: Win 80Gb for OS and Maxtor 80GB/7200rm (Dedicated for DV only)
DV Converter: Canopus ADVC-100 (love it)
DVD: BenQ 400A +R/RW (burns Ripped DVDs OK)
Nero Express 5.5xxx

Here's my situaton: Found WinDVD Creator Plus 4.O (That came bundled with my BenQ) to limiting (no options to change formats)

Ulead VideoStudio 5.0 (that came bundled with my Firewire card) hard to configure and too clunky (and it only captured Mpegs @ 352x258)

Switched to (NV2) Nero Vision 2.0.19... w/DVD plug in

It installed OK and Grabbed my FireWire just fine, BUT when I try to save to HD in DVD w/ Mpeg 2 the video and sound is stuccato (intermitently freezes/drops frames by the dozens...).

But on the other hand recording in DV (AVI) mode(DV1 & 2) works fine.

What I'm I doing wrong. Tried uninstall/reinstall.

Also: Unistalling NV2 sometimes jams up. Should I go through Add/Remove programs to uninstall it or should I use the disc?

Finally: Discovered once (when everything was working so so) that NV2 won't break the 2Gb limit. Does NV6 break the 2Gb barrier?

Would adding the VidCap32.exe patch help, as it was designed to help VidCap32, itself. Is there a list of MUST have system files I need for Firewire captures?

Would converting to NTFS help? And why go to NTFS when Virtualbub handles going beyond 2Gb just fine?

Thanks in advance Guys,

G-Guy1
