    LG 4040b can it burn ritek GO3 at 2x, Thanks Considering purchasing one. I only use Ritek G03 and TDK.

    Burns DVD-R TDK and Princo's @ 4x perfectly.

    Great burner, 40 burns no coasters.

    Yes it can, to my surprise I was able to burn a RITEKG03 at 2X no problems, I only tried one so far though. I didn't even upgrade to the newest firmware available, the firmware on my drive is A300.

    I did have some problems burning some DVD-Rs that were labelled at 4X though, it would only burn at 2X, the media code on those DVD-Rs were LEADDATA.

    RITEKG04 and RICOHJPNR01 DVD+R all burned at 4X no problem so far.

    Yes the Ritek G03 are a good match for the LG and burn at 2X (why would that be surprising?). The transfer test with Nero CD/DVD Speed shows a good write/read (some Princos show a drop off at the end). The G03's are all I use.
