I already tried uninstalling Nero 5 and installed 6. Yet, before even doing that, my VCD would fail to burn. I have used Nero to burn a WMV file that was converted to MPG for burning; that worked fine. I have two more and neither of them are burning. Nero starts then always fails, saying, "Burn process failed at 8x 400" or "12x 1200".
Here is the error log. Any ideas?
Thanks

I didn't get past this,
Nero version: 6.0.0.0
There are several updates out for the Nero 6 program. I would visit the Download page and get the updates and the General Clean tool.
Uninstall Nero and run the clean tool, reboot and install the updated version. -
i had this problem as well updated nero to latest version checked the aspi drivers also tried easy cd creator getting same thing there as well. In the end tried a different burner everything works fine now, so if you can try a different burner it might be that its on its way out, mine was less than a year old so still under waranty hope this helps

Thanks.
After much trial and error and going over the forums and various web sites, I realized it was the CDs I was using. Imagine CDs work fine, as do some blank, unmaked CDs; my Memorex 700megs and some other CD type did not.
I made a lot of coasters.

Check for a firmware update for your CD drive. I recently purchased a Plextor PX-708 and there was a firmware update for it a week later.
CD quality is something to look out for. Lordsmurf has a spot at his site about DVD quality. Some good insight about who makes quality discs.
