i have a P4 XP 512 ram. Have used the Winfast 2000 expert and its generally good
Can anyone advise:
1. Can the software be set to turn your computer on to record or can it record with the computer power off - if we are away for a few days it seems we need to leave the computer on to record?
2. I check "silent recording" but the DVR merely starts up with sound and records - function doesn't seem to work.
Thankyou.

That's right, it won't do much if it is switched off! Leave the computer on and just switch the monitor off. Leaving it on won't do any harm, most electrical devices fail upon initial power on, never switching it off means it is actually far less likely to fail. I rarely turn my computer off, and my office machine hasn't been switched off for over two years (most housekeeping takes place overnight)Originally Posted by Och
Find out why it doesn't work or merely switch your speakers off at the same time as you switch your monitor off!Originally Posted by Och
