  1. when i convert my avi file with TMPGE it will maybe get to 29% then the screen with the video goes black but it keeps converting so i stopped it,what is causing this or will it be ok if i let it convert to the end.i burned what i had converted to a dvd-rw and it played the video fine but their was no sound at all this was on my standalone player,but there was sound when i played it through my pc. please help

    Did you scan your AVI for bad frames before doing anything else? (Bad frames is a highly probable cause for your encoding to stop in the middle.)
    What guide did you follow when doing your AVI to DVD project?
    What codec's used for audio in the source AVI? (Probably some that TMPGEnc doesn't handle.)
