i have a pioneer elite DV 37 ( a fantastic machine for dvds) but alas....

  2. yes there is, but only if your player supports VCD's. i know there are some players out there that support VCD's & not SVCD's, there is a fix to this. If you are using NERO to burn your MPEG file to SVCD, then do this:
when you click FILE -> NEW and select Super Video CD, then click on the VIDEO CD tab, then click the button that says compatability.change the video directory from MPEG2 to MPEGAV. that will mean that you are creating an SVCD with a VCD filesystem, so your player will play it IF IT CAN PLAY VCD'S

  4. really? hmm, thats unlucky, especially because it should, try messing around with some of the authoring settings with nero, maybe it isnt burning correctly? maybe your drive only supports SVCD on certain types of media, keep trying.

  5. If you're using Nero 5.5.5.1, there are some people having problem with it authoring SVCD. Try Nero 5.5.4.0, or grab TSCV (Tools to the left) and create a bin/cue file for CDRWin burning
