  1. I am new to video editing and I am attempting to use Virtualdub to "clean up"some video clips that need help. I am going to use a tutorial I found online to learn the technique. My problem is I cannot open an .avi file as Vdub gives me the message "Couldn't locate decompressor for 'dvsd'. Vdub requires Video for Windows compatible codec to decompress video. Direct Show codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable." I assume I need another tool to help Vdub open files. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks!
