This is no newbie task - I've managed so far to rip an individual sub track from VOB with VobSub, then convert to sup with sub2sup for use in IfoEdit. If you can get your subs in VobSub format, you're on your way!

I will have to agree with mats.hogberg.

There are some exercices that are not for beginners. One has to learn to walk before you can run. And this is one of these.

If you want to do the simple version of what you require, this is what to do:

You can create a movie only DVD with the movie, audio and subtitles - but no menu. This can be done with IFOEdit.

Rip the video and audio in elementary streams, rip and translate the subtitles, render them into sup and include them - along with video and audio - to IFOEdit.

I'm afraid that it's impossible to add additional subtitles to existing DVD structure VOB files without some extrememly complicated demultiplexing and re-multiplexing - which would require software that I don't think that exists.

Try the simple task - as explained above by me and mats and if you are not satisfied with it, investigate further. If you manage to achieve that, then by all means post a guide. And continue posting questions if you need further assistance..
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  6. first of all thx 4 the replies....

now, i've downloaded every software i could find that has DVD in its name, but still I couldn't find one software that can open a DVD movie (without Demux it, in other software).

so, let me ask another question, If i wanna backup the movie, with menues and every thing. with what software can I do it? (demux it and the remux it all over).

Then there's only to run the vobsub thru sub2sup, and Voila! you have subs that can be added in Ifoedit.
How did you go from srt to VobSub (sub+idx)?
