I am not able to get DVD-9 to split DVD+R backup copies made with DVD Fab to work correctly on my LVD-2001. I have not yet tried any other DVD splitting programs, but I think the problem is with the player, not with the disks. My firmware version is 0229. My problem is with the second disk not being playable in the LVD-2001. They work fine in all other DVD players that I’ve tried (Sony, JVC, Apex, Toshiba PC drive). When disk one completes, a message on the screen prompts you to insert disk two, and playback is supposed to automatically resume at the next chapter. I insert disk two into the LVD-2001, the player recognizes that it is a DVD, but does not start playback. The ‘Play’ button does nothing, and the front panel of the player does not show a title or chapter number. This is a real bummer, because I thought this unit could play everything.

I'm guessing that the LVD-2001 has a problem with the .ifo on disk 2 pointing to a chapter other than #1. Does anyone know if this is the case or if there is a workaround?

I really hope this problem can be fixed by a firmware update. Until then, I need to keep my JVC around for playing my DVD backups.
