  1. Can anyone advise if the following process will be free of any re-encoding, A/D conversion etc. In other words can I get lossless copies?

Burn RAM disc in E60 from SVHS tapes ; put RAM disc into E80/100 and push back to hard drive ; edit out some scenes ; burn RAM copies in the E100/80.

Will the RAMS from the E100/80 be lossless copies of the original recorded on the E60?

Somebody must know!! Please put me out of my misery. I have to burn the discs now and can only buy the E60 here. When I emigrate I'll get the hard drive machine to do the final editing and copies.

    Please help!

  2. ozalien,

I understand you can't get the manual to download from the Panasonic web site, so let me pop a piece of it in here:

Looks like your only choice for going from DVD-RAM to HDD is the "High Speed" mode, which is your "lossless" mode. Presuming you'd be able to go "High Speed" from the HDD to DVD-R, I think you got yourself a plan!

  3. Is the manual for the DMR-E100HS available online? I have not been able to find it (doesn't seem to be on the Amazon website yet).

Well, I can't find it on Panasonic's site:

    http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/OperMan/FindManual.asp?bhcd2=1068184242

You can get the one for the DMR-E80H, though -- just search for exactly that:

    DMR-E80H

I'd recommend selecting the "Save to your PC" button....

That ought to get you at least "most" of the information from the E100H manual....

    Hope that helps!

If you need the E80 or E100 manuals in English or French go here:

    http://www.panasonic.ca/english/sandd/SoftwareQuery.asp

Put in DMRE for the model number and a list will be generated.

    Download what you need...
