  1. Ok, I read a post somehwere addressing why there's no sound in Ulead DVD MovieFactory or Workshop but can't find it with a search. How can I resolve this issue?

    Thanks!

  2. Ok, whille I'm waiting on a repsonse from one of you pros, let me tell you my process and maybe this will help provide a solution. Since I'm new, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong or missing a step. I want the easiest yet most effective dvd burning solution.

    1) I record my vhs tape to the hard drive on my e80
    2) high speed dub to my dvd-ram disk.3
    3) Put the disk in my LG GSA-4040b PC drive (which does recognize ram disks) and copy the vro, pub and ifo files to my computer.
    4) Rename the .vro file to .mpeg
    5) "Import a video" in DVD MovieFactory 2.
    6) Create the menu and chapters.
    7) "Ouput" to dvd-r.

I never hear sound in MF2 from the movie itself. When I add background sound to the menu, that sound DOES play properly as well as on the output. But, the movie audio is never their, not even when burned to dvd-r and played in a standalone player.

    Please help!

    Buster,

The reason you don't hear sound is due to the fact Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 does not support AC-3 audio compression, which is the type of compression utilized by the Panasonic player/recorders.

To author AC-3 sound, you'll need to upgrade to Ulead's DVD WORKSHOP AC-3 described at the following link:

    http://www.ulead.com/dws/runme.htm

(Also be advised Ulead has just announced version 2.0 of DVD Workshop.)

As an alternative, I seem to recall there's a way to adjust the Panasonic player/recorders to utilize LPCM audio instead of AC-3 audio compression.

If you switch your player/recorder to utilize LPCM audio and then import any files recorded with that setting, you should be able to hear audio using Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2.

Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 supports both LPCM and MPEG AUDIO.

    Hope this helps,
