not sure if this was already suggested or what you guys think of it but how about a link at the bottom of a forum post that would notify you of a topic that hasn't been responded to in a certain amount of time.
Every now and then I see a post where I think I could help the person (which doesn't happen often since I have only been doing this for < a year)...maybe I don't have time to post, or maybe there's someone else that may want to post first - however, I would be willing to post if no response had been provided in say a day...but, given the # of posts that fly by on the site, there's no way to track this manually
anyway, not sure if anyone would find that type of feature useful or what its priority would be, but I thought I'd throw it out there for posterity

sure, no problem - it's not laziness, more just a feeling of when you've crossed the line from not knowing anything to knowing something, and just being careful not to post ahead of your own knowledge; but, that should be self-regulating.

Dave,
You don't have to know everything. Noone here does. You, yourself, might have asked the ? when you first got here and the guy who helped you may be gone or on holiday or whatever.
If you can help, you are not stepping on toes. I'm sure if you are not thorough enough, or even if you are, if anyone else knows the answer they'll chime in. Few will say I couldna put it better myself.
Feel free. There have been some who post and get angry because they don't get an immediate answer, when, actually, noone seems to know the answer.
Read the Computer Forum. 40 suggestions and, sorry, that didn't do it. My own included.
Some things are just not meant to be understood by us mere mortals.
Cheers,
George
