  1. I'm trying to combine two Xvid/AC3 5ch AVI files together using VirtualDubMod, however I can't seem to figure out why I keep getting an error saying "Cannot append segment: The audio streams have different data formats"

I've read countless guides on how to append one AVI to another, and by all counts this should be working for me. I've checked the audio using Gspot and VirtualDubMod's "File Information" and both of these tell me that both Xvid files have exact same:

    Sampling rate:48KHz
    Channels: 5 (stereo)
    Audio tag: 0x2000, Decodable AC3
    Compression: Unknown (tag 2000)
Min/avg/max/total frame size 3072/3072/3072 (don't know what this is but thought I'd post it anyways)
    Data rate: 384kbps (0.78% overhead)

I'm pulling my hair out trying to join these two files... if anyone can help me I'd be SO appreciative!

  2. that's because vdub can't handle those 5 channels ac3 files to append. Try open each one and use "save wav..." separately. join them outside vdub....
well I think it's the same problem of Ripper2860 post... read it.

    hope it helps...
