Hi all, please help me am having problem joining 2 AVI files. Here is the error message:

The audio streams do not share a common sampling rate..

    First stream: 0000401a / 00000001 = 16410.00000 samples/sec
    Second stream: 00004026 / 00000001 = 16422.00000 samples/sec

I hope anyone here can help me coz' I'm very much of a newbie and don't know how to correct this error. I used Virtualdub to join 2 AVI files and that's where I get the error message.

    Note:
The dimensions, bit rate and frame rate are 640x272, 131Kbps and 25 respectively and the codec used is XVID. Got these infos from GSpot. I d/l the 2 AVI files from the net.

If you want to join them in VD, they need to be exactly the same specifications. To do that, you would have to encode one or the other. Another option is AVIDemux. It may be able to join them as is.

  3. I have used the old program
    NanDub (nandub v1.0 rc2) http://ndub.sourceforge.net/
with good success where VirtualDub has given me the same errors as you got.

Hi redwudz thanks for replying unfortunately I have no idea in using AVIDemux but it looks promising . And to hubbabub I d/l the Nandub and it looks like Virtualdub so I tried it and open the first avi file and to my surprise there is no VBR warning message then append the second avi again there is no vbr error message and also the audio stream error but when I tried to play the avi file there is no audio is this normal? Do I have to save the 2 avi files first to be able to play, view and listen to it? And also I haven't altered anything yet I just open the first avi file then append the second. hubbabub can you please help me if there is anything else that I should do first. Thank you both for helping me. BTW there are 2 files for Nandub there is the binary and the sources which one should I use? Or should I use both? But how? I see the Nandub Binary which is where the exe file included but the Sources I don't know how, sorry coz' am really new in this.

  5. You only need the Binary version of NanDub

File 1 = Open Video file
File 2 = Append AVI segment

Set "Direct Stream Copy" on both Video and Audio

    Save as AVI file
Now the 2 files are joined

Thanks a lot hubbabub! It works perfectly! I hope there's a manual for using Nandub do you know if there is one? BTW is it normal that when cutting a portion of the movie in Nandub I don't see a progress blue line unlike Virtualdub and the markings also?
