I've been trying out TMPGEncDVD and really like it and the ease of setting up chapters. I'm pretty new to authoring. One thing I'd like is to have a first track that only plays when dvd first inserted (like the fbi warnings or other short clip before the main menu).

I can't really see a easy way to do this if it is possible? What I ended up doing was making it the first track, with only the autocreated chapter 1. I unchecked to hide the chapter 1 track thumbnail but the track menu for it still exists. On the main menu I deleted the text name and thumbnail image. Then minimized the two boxes for them, overlapped and pushed off to a dark spot on the menu. This pretty much works but you can still hit that spot if using the arrow keys to manuver in the menu, click then you end up on the blank track menu.

Is there a way to really remove the track menu and icons but keep the track so it does the first play?

I could just be overlooking something basic, I'm new to this hobby so been reading everything in site and starting to feel like brain overloaded with info, eventually it will all gel together

    Thanks,

    DVDLab can do it also
and IMO is much more flexible than TMPEG DVD author and not that much harder to learn to use
and it has a 30-day trial...

  5. After I had read twice your question I thought that it might be nice for you if you click display menu settings and set first track as first play (as intro) and next action : return to main menu.
Of course you can configure it to automaticaly start playing all tracks if you find menu annoying.
