Adding Subtitles to Divx with TMPGEncDVD Author 3

I'm trying to add subtitles to a divx file with TMPGEncDVD Author 3. I add the subs in .srt format and when I run "Simulation" the subtitles work but when I "Start" the conversion process the subs don't show up on the "preview" screen. I even let the whole conversion process run (about 1 hour and 45 minutes) to see if they'd show up on the file when the conversion was finished but they didn't. I'm new at this, can anyone give a brother some advice? Thanks in advance.

How are you playing the converted dvd? You need a software dvd player and open the video_ts folder and then probably also enable the subtitles because they are switchable.

I appreciate your reply. I haven't even tried to burn the file because (as I said previously) it didn't appear the subtitles were added even after the full conversion (despite the fact that if I look at "simulation" prior to conversion the subtitles work. I burn divx files all the time with Nero by putting them on a dvd disc and burning them as data files. They all work perfectly when I play them on my dvd/divx player connected to my tv. Many thanks again for any help/advice.

BUT how did you play the files after you converted with TDA? You can't just play a vob as the player will not find the subtitle then.
