  1. I was astonished by the quality of the FE & QLC tv rips of the new enterprise series. I downloaded the series premiere already converted to VCD and the quality was great. when I convert my divx's or mpg's to VCD using TMPGEnc or the Panasonic MPEG encoder, I ain't getting even close to this quality. anybody seen those rips too and know how to get to that quality level for VCD's?

    Aren't those pre-air versions? Which means (to me atleast) the source is a hijacked satellite signal, purely digital and MPEG-2 format, thus a really good result for the VCD?

    For them, its like you or I ripping a DVD.

  3. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe those have been converted from digital satellite/cable feeds which are mpeg-2.

  4. Actually I thought to grab pirated sattelite signals you needed one of those big old dishs and I was under the impression that that was only an analog signal... Correct me If I am wrong.
