  1. Please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum or has been asked a 1000 times.

I was wondering if there is any way to capture or copy a small segment of a DVD. I don't want anymore than 30 seconds or a minute. I don't even care about audio or burning it to another DVD. I just want a small segment. Are there any programs that let you set what part of the video you want to capture?

I want to do this to see if I can fix an encoding process. It appears a small segment of the video was improperly IVTC'ed. The effect is exactly the same as if you IVTC a video and choose the wrong field order.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

  4. Thanks. I'll try those out. I just hope my theory about that segment being IVTC'ed incorrectly is right and it isn't another problem. Every player I've played that scene on has the same problem.

    Thanks again.

Smartripper and Decrypter both allow ripping by cells, which are smaller than chapters. The menu vob will contain many cells with individual parts of the menu system. VOBEDIT can demux into streams if it's already on your HD.
