Hello,
I've usually just made XVCD discs up to now, but I just decided to give the default NTSC SVCD template in TMPG12f a shot. When I played it back on my Sony DVP560D I noticed that the video flickers. I searched through some of the help files here, and the closest answer I've found was to adjust the A-B field order when encoding. Would this correct the flicker or is does something more need to be done?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, choosing Field or Field B Order makes a dramatic difference. You can 'test' this by choosing Interlace, then Field A or B, then go down to the De-Interlace filter. Double-click and choose Even-Odd (Field) and then scan through the video. Check if it still flickers, if so, then you choose the wrong Field Order.
