  1. Hello all,

I had an .avi which already had subs on it which I wanted to put on 2 SVCDs. First part went OK, split it fine and then used TMPGEnc to change it to SVCD compliant MPEG2. Still OK, I went ahead and burned the first part with Nero 6. The disc plays fine but the subs are right at the bottom edge of my TV. I've tried adjusting the TV picture settings and those of the DVD player but I can't get the picture to shift up anymore which is making reading the subs hard.

Both parts of the movie came out 480x480 and play OK on my PC. They have the subs like the original .avi had them - with a gap to the bottom of the movie. Is there a different burning program where I can fix this?

Well, you can use an encoder like TMPGEnc and add borders at the top, bottom and sides to bring the subtitles higher up.
    Hello.
