  1. ok, I've spent a couple of nights reading the forums so have some answers to my questions - there is just so much to read and take in!

hope there is some kind person out there who can explain in relatively simple terms the answers to my questions?!

I would like to create a cd that will play in my dvd player and on my pc. I have managed to do this to a certain extent (using TMPGenc and Roxio) but I have to play the cd through PowerDVD on my pc. Does anyone know if there's a format that will play using Windows Media Player AND will also play on a dvd. I have a cd in this format (also plays with Real Player and DivX player) and others tell me it will play in their dvd player - I would like to create a similar cd but can't find out how! In the properties it just says MPEG video (it won't play on my vcd enabled dvd player though).

Is Roxio a good enough program to use to burn vcd's? I've read a lot about easyvcd and downloaded the trial version. Would you recommend this instead?

Thanks so much for all your help

  2. done lots more reading this evening and I've found out that I can actually watch the vcd with windows media player if I go into Explorer and click on 'Open with' and then select my windows media player.

How do I create an autorun file to put on the cd so that it will automatically play on whatever player someone has on their pc? ie windows media player, real player, divx?

if there's an autorun file on the cd, will it still work in dvd players supporting vcd?

    thanks again
