can someone explain this?? all my vob files totaled 4.17GB, and after i made an image file, the file would be 8GB!!! help!!!

An ISO file contains more than just the content of the volume - it's a descriptor that tells your authoring program how to write the disc - so you're probably experiencing the overhead caused by this additional (sector information, for example) information.
