    Hi there
I currently have canopus raptor rt combined with premiere 6.5.
After I capture some files and edit them, than I want to put it on dvd.
I want to know what is the easyest way. It takes lot of time to save the preject as avi and then convert to mpeg-2 using tmpgenc and than writing on a dvd disk.
Isn't there some quality mpeg plugin I can use in premiere 6.5 so I can save it straight away in mpeg. By the way I did try som plugin that didnt have good enough quality.
    Any suggestions??

A TMPGEnc plugin for Premier is available at

    http://www.puresoft.co.uk/tsunami/plugin.htm

I haven't used it myself, but I think it's available for trial as well

    cheers

I think that's just a frameserver. You can do that with AVISYNTH and a few others. Not a real plugin.

premiere 6.5 comes with the main concept encoder which is very good -- but there is an update for it (1.3) which you should install ...

  8. Thank you very much for the info guys.

If I may also ask: I have a dv avi file and have loaded it to premiere 6.5. When i tried to export it to vcd using premiere's built in adobe mpeg encoder(mainconcept) it has no problems. but when i try to export it to dvd using again adobe premiere's encoder(mainconcept), the resulting picture is inverted.

    Just updated to 1.2

    Hope you guys could help.

    tnx. God Bless

  9. I use Premiere 6.1 and have a Ligos 2.0 encoder that is a plug in for Premiere. I don't know if it works with 6.5, but it works real nice with 6.1. Export from the timeline to MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4. Quality seems to be pretty good also, but I don't have anything to compare it against either.

    the resulting picture is inverted.
    This usually is display only!
The dvd, if you build it to your hard drive, should be fine....

The Media Player has DirectShow problems with MPEG-2 codec
    sometimes that forces upsidedown playback..
If you play the file you think is inverted over the network on anorther machine 99% of the time you'll see its the player not the file itself

The MPEG-2 plaugin native to premiere has been excellent for all my coversions but there are 5 differing plug ins I've tried 3 of
    MPEG-MARVEL...works fine but doesn't handle AC3
    LIGOS..Mpeg audio only (no ac3)
Digigami plug in...works fine, also no ac3 support

It seems you need XP Pro and Premiere Pro for AC3 files
