Media use on toshiba dr-5

I am probably getting this model and was curious if it was picky on the media that you should use?
I have a bunch of TY G01 dvd -r straight from supermedia store, anyone have any luck or experience with that?, How about RAM disks, are there any specific brands?

Also I have a question on the features: I am transfering VHS to dvd-r, how does the auto chapter work? is it in intervals, or when you stop the tape?

I am kinda in the dark when it come to this.

I use G01s in the D-R4 all the time. I've tried Optodisc and Panasonic RAM discs, G01s, G02s, a Verbatim 16x, and Prodisc S03s, all of them have worked fine. Chapters on the D-R4 can be set at 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes, I don't know if the D-R5 is the same or not. My 2 D-R4s have perfomed flawlessly for me.
