Hi all - this has been bugging me for a while, but the problem only happens once in a while, so it's taken until now to bug me to the point of seeking help.
The situation is this - I have been using my PC as a PVR very successfully for some time. However, there's a niggling problem with certain types of TV image - whenever the TV image goes a very bright white it causes the image on the PC (and the capture) to flicker from blue screen to white (a couple of frames blue, then the normal white image). Colour balance is generally very good, so it's not a problem that replicates very often.
I know the problem is related somehow to my capture card's ability to handle pure white, but I have no clue as to how I can go about fixing the problem. Any clues?
I'm using a Pinnacle PCTV card and VirtualVCR as the front end (although the problem replicates itself using every other piece of software I've tried)
