  1. I bought a 100 pack of the Ritek discs from Media Super Store that I was using with my Panny dmr-50 and after about the 25th disc it put it into recover mode and will not eject the disc. I tried everything-unplugging unit to try to eject disc to no avail. I tried another disc on another recorder and the same thing happened but luckly was able to get the disc out. This must be the media and not the recorders. Now I have to send it in for sevice to fix the problem. Has anyone experianced anything like this or am I the only one. Beatledave

  2. I had a disc that would not eject in an e-30. I just popped the lid off and removed the disc. All that is required is a philips screw driver.

  3. I wonder.............

I also purchased Ritek from SuperMediaStore and the first 50 burned with zero issues. The next fifty have been giving me probs.

I can not direct burn ie; DVD to DVD. It has to be done straight from the HD or it will get 80% through the burn phase and then give an error.(Again this just started with this latest batch of Ritek)

Also, I wanted to see what actually was on one of these disks that I got the error so I loaded it into my DVD player. I have been playing back up copies in this player for some time so I know that there was no issue with the player. I got to the point where the disk stopped burning and the player locked up. No big deal I expected an error in the read, but I mean it REALLY locked up. It would not play a back up, it would not play an original, it would not play period!!

Bottom line of the last 50 Ritek I've had about 10 coasters. I'm into a new spindle now so we'll see what happens here.

There's a big thread about something like this on a different forum. A claim that Grade B discs were supposed to be labeled as such (high failure rate) but are ending up being resold as Grade A.

I have no idea if it's rumor & unfounded, but you may want to search for the info.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

  6. Hi All,

Did you all know that all cd and dvd drives have an emergency eject mechanism?

Yup, if you look at the face of the driver. Somewhere near the eject button, you'll see a tiny hole. Get a thin, sharp object and insert into this hole. The disc will automatically pop open the door. You may need to hold the sharp object in place for a few seconds.

    Good luck!
