  1. Ive got a Panny DMR E30, its great and I luv it. I recently bought a mult-region Panny DVDS75. I got a 'remove macrovison' scart lead and I can record DVD to DVD-R fine IF they are PAL (im in uk) BUT if i play a NTSC region 1 DVD on my DVDS75 (choosing PAL60 output) the picture on the DMRE30 is all screwy at the bottom of the screen, (If i output direct from the DVDS75 to the TV ..the picture is fine!?).

Anyone else noticed this. It didnt happen with my old Afreey DVD player to DMRE30.

Also ...Both Panasonics use same 'frequency' on remotes..(ie i press Play on one and they both play), anyone know a way round this..its annoying.

I own a E50 and Panasonic RP82, I cant remember fully but there was a page in the manual stating a way to change the (E50) remote code so that if you used another Panasonic remote it would not affect the recorder.

However, only thing that may annoy some is that when you use another panasonic remote other than the recorder one it will display a brief message on the recorder window stating that a panasonic remote is being used.....

My e80 is right on top of my RP91. I really appreciate the fact that Panasonic built in the ability to change the frequency of the remote at which the recorder responds to. I've programmed the codes of the e80 into my Philips Pronto and they work fine, now if only I can find discrete codes to turn the e80 on and off as well as to be able to choose the input instead of having to toogle through.

  4. I have the E30 and E100H. Panasonic has built the ability to change the remote codes for its controllers via the setup menu. I assume it's the same for their more recent players(?). As mentioned above, the other machine only shows a "Chk Remote Region" error on the other machine when you use the remote for the desired machine. This is great because my Panasonic recorders normally come on if you press any of their operational keys, so you can't just turn one off and not worry.

  5. why not make back up on the PC much better dvdshrink and dvdfab are both free. Plus you still better 5.1 sound the way your doing it you can never get 5.1 sound. As for you macrovison problem the only good box to fix that problem is the "Sima video Copy master" I heard that change it so it will not fix macrovison. If I was you and need one buy a old one from ebay.

  6. A Panny S35 Player on its way ...plan to get the PannyE80 but still wonder about the Pioneer 510. A couple of weeks to go...also want to avoid the xmas crush.
Got the player to play ram rather than use recorder...and considered that having matching remotes might make it easier......I am buried in remotes.
I should buy that Sony 1000? all in one. I find 'all in ones' only go so far.

Ah.Well..If youve got a E30 then i must be able to cahne the remote for that or the DVDS75, I didnt see it mentioned in the manuals, but ill have another look through !

    Spiderman.

I do..!.. i use my PC writer to copy 99% of my DVDs, just sometimes its handy to just do a plain dvd to dvd-r in real time, for example i wanna convert a NTSC region one into a multi-region PAL DVD (not all my friends have multi-region players). Although at the mo this dont work ..as you can see from my original post, this has nothing to do with the macrovision removable cable (that works fine), just somehow converting it from ntsc to pal screws it up somehow, BUT only when viewed through the DMRE30, when connected direcxt to my TV its fine.
