Nero - Can anyone help out of this loop?

I have just purchased the lastest version of Nero CD Burner.

It cannot write to my CD Writer (SANSUNG SM-308B)

4 emails to Nero only produce the advice to re-install Nero

The "Auto Detect function" quotes the correct identity of my CD writer then it wants me to insert a test CD which I don't have because I downloaded Nero from the web.

O.K. Download the image for the CD. Great but how to burn it out to the writer?

Adaptec works fine on my machine but doesn't recognise the Nero image file type.

This is all because I want to burn SVCDs (VCDs go fine with Adaptec)

i really can't help you with nero but all i make are svcd's and i use vcdimager to create the bin and cue file and then i use either cdrwin, cdrdoa, or fireburnr to burn the bin and cue files.

Do you still have the Adaptec programs on your machine? Nero wouldn't work properly for me until I removed all the Adaptec stuff, there was some kind of conflict. Cleaned it all and Nero worked. (But I still use VCDImagerEasy or TSCV for video cd's)
