I have encoded a few SVCDs, and I would like to remove small parts of them, such as swear words, violent parts, etc. for public viewing of the clips. Does anyone know of a good mpeg2 editor so that I don't have to convert first to Mpeg1 and then reencode the entire movie to Mpeg2. Also, I hate reencoding because it means a loss of quality. In fact, a VOB cutter something would be perfect. I would love to be able to edit Mpeg2 in Premiere. Any ideas?
Thanks

Some ideas:
You need an mpeg-2 codec found in lsx 3.5. Once installed, premiere will open that mpeg-2 file. You can also frame-serve the file.
If you want to beep out swear words, you can simple-demux(tmpgenc) the file >> convert it to wav >> use a wave editor(cooledit) and silence that clip >> convert back to mp2(tmpeg) >> remux a/v with bbmpeg.
You will need to have the codec for anyediting.
